About This Page

Fatshark’s games bring together players from around the world to play, compete, and interact. We aim to ensure these spaces remain safe, respectful, and enjoyable for everyone.

To support this, we establish Community Rules that apply to all players and operate content moderation systems designed to identify and address harmful or rule-breaking behaviour.

This page explains how we moderate our services, the standards players are expected to follow, how you can report harmful or illegal activity, and the actions we may take when our rules are violated.

Community Rules

When you play our games, you agree to follow our Community Rules. These are set out in the End User Licence Agreement (“EULA”) and supplemented by the content on this page, as well as any game-specific user-generated content policies. Links to these documents are provided below:

Our Community Rules explain how players are expected to interact with others when using our services.

The examples below describe behaviour that is not permitted, but they do not cover every possible situation. Behaviour that harms the community or violates the spirit of these standards may still result in enforcement action even if it is not specifically listed.  Failure to follow the Community Rules may result in sanctions, as detailed in Sanctions and Appeals section below.

Examples of Prohibited Conduct

Bullying and Harassment

Treat other players with respect — whether in gameplay sessions, chat, or anywhere else in our community, including when communicating with our staff. Threatening or abusive messages, repeatedly targeting another player, or behaviour intended to make someone feel unwelcome, intimidated, or distressed is not allowed.

Discrimination and Hate Speech

Our games are for everyone. Content or behaviour that targets people based on race, religion, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or similar personal characteristics is not permitted. This includes hateful language in chat, usernames, or any other in-game or community content. You may not like everyone you play or communicate with, but you must treat others with basic respect.

Cheating, Griefing and Trolling

Cheating undermines fair play. Using hacks, exploits, bots, aimbots, or any other unauthorised software to gain an unfair advantage is prohibited. Deliberately disrupting gameplay — such as griefing, intentionally throwing matches, or trolling other players — is also not allowed.

Impersonation

Players must not impersonate other people. This includes pretending to be another player, a member of our team, a moderator, or any real person in order to mislead others. Creating accounts designed to resemble someone else is also not permitted.

Dangerous or Illegal Activities

Our games must not be used to promote or organise illegal or harmful activity. This includes encouraging violence, facilitating illegal trade, or sharing content that could put people at risk of harm.

Deceptive Practices

Do not attempt to deceive other players. This includes:

  • scamming players out of in-game items or currency,

  • running fake giveaways,

  • sharing phishing links, or

  • pretending to be an employee of Fatshark to obtain account details.

If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Report suspicious messages and avoid clicking links you do not trust.

Inappropriate Content

Content shared within our games must remain appropriate. Sexually explicit material, graphic violence outside normal gameplay, and content that a reasonable person would consider seriously offensive are not permitted. This includes usernames, profile images, chat messages, or any other forms of uploaded content on our services. Higher standards may apply in areas of our services where younger players may be present.

Naming and Shaming / Witch Hunts

Do not publicly accuse, shame, or encourage others to target another player or community member. If you believe someone has violated our rules, use our reporting tools rather than taking matters into your own hands. Public call-outs, witch hunts, and attempts to rally others against an individual are not permitted.

Child Safety

Protecting children is a priority. We operate a zero-tolerance policy for activity that harms or exploits minors. This includes both criminal conduct and behaviour that may pose serious risks to children’s safety or wellbeing. Serious violations may result in immediate account termination and may be referred to law enforcement authorities.

Examples of Criminal Activity Affecting Children

The following are examples of criminal activity affecting children. If you see behavior like this, please report it immediately.

  • Grooming and Exploitative Contact: This typically involves attempts to build a relationship with a child in order to manipulate or exploit them. Potential grooming may be identified where, for example, a user requests personal information from someone who may be a minor, attempts to arrange in-person meetings, or tries to move conversations off-platform to private messaging services.

  • Sexual Exploitation of Minors: This includes content that sexually exploits or sexualises minors — including images, videos, drawings, or written material.

Examples of Harmful Content Affecting Children

We also prohibit content that may have a particularly harmful impact on younger players, including:

  • Suicide and Self-Harm: Content that encourages, instructs, or glorifies self-harm or suicide.

  • Eating Disorders and Negative Body Image: Content that promotes unhealthy relationships with food, extreme dieting, or disordered eating. Mocking or shaming others about their appearance is also not allowed.

  • Dangerous Activities or Challenges: Content encouraging players — particularly younger players — to participate in real-life dangerous activities or challenges.

  • Drugs and Alcohol: Content that promotes drug use or encourages alcohol or substance misuse is not allowed.

How We Detect Issues

We use a combination of tools and processes to identify harmful or rule-breaking behaviour on our services. These may vary depending on the specific game, but typically include:

  • Automated filters, such as keyword and profanity filters that detect or block prohibited content in real time.

  • Anti-cheat systems designed to detect the use of unauthorised third-party software or exploits.

  • Human moderation, where trained moderators review reported or flagged content while also passively monitoring our services for content that may violate our policies.

Some systems operate automatically — for example, blocking certain prohibited words or phrases as they are entered. In other cases, content may be flagged for review by a human moderator before any action is taken.

Player reports are also an important part of how we identify issues. If you encounter behaviour that appears harmful or violates our rules, please report it using the tools described in the “Reporting Harmful Activity” section below.

Reporting Harmful Activity

If you encounter harmful content or behaviour in our games, we encourage you to report it. Depending on the situation, there are two types of reports you can submit.

Reporting Rule Violations

If another player or community member behaves in a way that breaks our Community Rules — for example harassment, cheating, or offensive language — you can report them directly using the reporting tools on the relevant platform. If you require further assistance, you may also contact our Community Support team at: fatshark.se/support

Reporting Illegal Content

If you believe you have encountered content that may be illegal, you may submit an Illegal Content Notice. Examples may include content that promotes real-world violence, exploitation, abuse, or other criminal activity.

Illegal Content Notices are treated separately from standard rule-violation reports so that we can prioritise and review potentially unlawful material more quickly. This process is reserved for genuine concerns about illegal content on our services. Misuse of this reporting channel — for example by submitting frivolous or knowingly false complaints — may itself be considered a breach of our Community Rules.

To submit an Illegal Content Notice, contact us at report@fatshark.se with the subject line “Illegal Content Notice”. Your notice should include the following information:

  • Name of the relevant game or service: Confirm the service where you believe the illegal activity is occurring.

  • Reason for the notice: Explain why you believe the content is illegal (including, where possible, the relevant law).

  • Location of the content: Describe where the content appears in the game or service and include screenshots if available.

  • Responsible user: The username or player ID of the player responsible, if known.

  • Your contact details: Your full name and a contact email address.

  • Declaration: Include the following declaration: “I genuinely believe the information in this notice is accurate and complete.”.

What Happens After You Report

When we receive a report, our support or moderation team will review the information provided and determine what action, if any, is appropriate. Following review, we may:

  • take no action, where we determine that no rules or laws have been violated,

  • take enforcement action against the player responsible (see our section on ‘Sanctions and Appeals’); or

  • refer the matter to relevant authorities, where appropriate.

Sanctions and Appeals

Sanctions

Where a player violates our Community Rules, we may take enforcement action that is fair and proportionate to the circumstances. Each case is reviewed individually.

When determining an appropriate response, we consider factors such as:

  • the seriousness of the behaviour,

  • whether the player has previously violated our rules, and

  • the potential impact on other players and the wider community.

We may then apply one or more of the following sanctions:

  • Temporary Suspension – Temporary loss of access to the relevant game or service.

  • Permanent Ban – Permanent removal of access to the relevant game or service. This sanction is typically reserved for the most serious or repeated violations.

When enforcement action is taken, the player will be notified on the relevant platform. The notification will include the duration of any temporary restriction or suspension.

Appeals

If you believe that a sanction has been applied in error, you may challenge the decision through our appeals process.

  1. Submission: Submit your appeal at fatshark.se/support. Please include (a) your account identifier (username, Fatshark Friend Code, or Steam URL/GamerTag/PSN ID), (b) the date you were notified of the sanction, (c) the reason you believe the decision was incorrect, and (d) any supporting information or evidence you wish us to consider. When creating your submission, please select ‘Query Type -> Ban Appeal’.

  2. Review: A member of our support or moderation team will review your appeal. Where necessary, we may contact you to request additional information.

  3. Decision: After reviewing the appeal, we will make a final determination and notify you of the outcome. Depending on the circumstances, the original sanction may be reversed, upheld, or modified (for example, where a different sanction is considered more appropriate)

Conduct When Contacting Support

We operate a zero-tolerance policy regarding abuse of our moderation and support staff. While we understand that sanctions may be frustrating, all communications must remain respectful.  Abusive or threatening behaviour toward staff may result in customer support ending the communication and, where appropriate, additional enforcement action.
