Darktide: Extraction Virtual Roleplay Module Out Now on Foundry

Cubicle 7 just released the virtual version of the Warhammer 40,000 Roleplay: Wrath & Glory, Darktide: Extraction, which is now playable in the Foundry Virtual Tabletop software!

In a collaborative effort we've built a feature that allows you to port your very own character into the virtual module - follow the steps below to find out more!

Explore the setting of Warhammer 40,000: Darktide as Inquisitor Grendyl dispatches you to the Snakestack, a lost region of Hive Tertium, to retrieve a lost archeotech cogitator. The ventilation systems of the Snakestack breathe life into Tertium, but the depths of the hive are packed with traitor forces of the Moebian 6th, cultists pledged to the plague god Nurgle, and strange lost sects of the Mechanicus.

Foundry Virtual Tabletop is an application built specifically for experiencing multiplayer tabletop roleplaying games with your friends and party members over the internet. Foundry Virtual Tabletop offers an expansive set of digital tools, designed to imitate and expand the experience of playing a game in-person with your friends. Support for character sheets, rolling dice, exploring battlemaps, and moving heroic tokens are just a few of the many features available, however it goes way beyond these features!

How to export your Darktide character:

- Go to https://accounts.atoma.cloud/

- Click Account Dashboard
- Find your character(s), click the export character button and copy the export token.

- Open your Foundry Virtual Tabletop, make sure you've installed the necessary modules (Wrath & Glory - Core Rulebook and Darktide: Extraction) and activate them in the settings tab under Manage Modules

- Once activated, create a new Agent type Actor. Once created, right click the Actor in the sidebar and click Import Darktide Character. Then paste your export token.

How does the importer work?

When importing a character, their class determines what Archetype they are given within Wrath & Glory. The Agent is given the base Attributes and skills of the Archetype, then the suggested Attributes and Skills are added on-top of those as advances. They are also given the Archetype’s Gear list (weapons omitted, see below).

Next, each major Talent within Darktide is assigned an Item, which the Agent receives if they have that Talent. This could be a Weapon, Psychic Power, or Ability/Talent Item. They also receive more gear based on what weapon they have within Darktide.

Additionally, substituting in for the selected Faction bonus from Character Creation is the Event bonus. The Defining Moments available when creating the character within Darktide are assigned a bonus, which the Agent receives.

Finally, every Talent on the tree is assigned an Attribute or Skill, characters that have the Talent, when imported, gain an advancement to that Attribute/Skill. These were largely allocated randomly, though some tweaking has been done (and may yet still be needed) to remove nonsensical advancements (e.g. removing Psychic Mastery for anyone but Psykers, removing Scholar from Ogryns). If you wish to align the imported character’s XP cost with existing characters, removing some of these advancements is definitely recommended.
